Waze Introduces New Conversational Reporting Feature and School Zone Alerts
Waze, the popular navigation app known for its active community of drivers and map editors, has launched two new features aimed at enhancing road safety and convenience for drivers. These updates include a “Conversational Reporting” feature, allowing users to report road incidents naturally via voice, and the addition of school zone alerts.
The Conversational Reporting feature, now in beta for trusted testers, enables drivers to verbally report incidents without needing specific voice commands. Instead, users can describe situations naturally, like saying, “There’s traffic up ahead.” The app, powered by Google’s Gemini capabilities, interprets the spoken report and logs it in real-time. If more details are needed, Waze will prompt the driver with follow-up questions, ensuring a complete and accurate report that other drivers can benefit from.
Additionally, School Zone Alerts have been introduced to promote safety in school areas. When approaching a school zone during active hours, drivers will receive a notification, reminding them to exercise extra caution.
These features are currently available in English on both Android and iOS platforms and are expected to roll out globally in the coming months. For those interested, downloading the latest version of Waze will provide access to these new tools aimed at creating a safer and more responsive driving experience.
